Have you ever cared so much about everyone else and forgot to care about yourself? Here are a few tips on how you can start caring and putting yourself first to improve your mental health. These tips are optional for you to choose whether you want to try it out or not. Just remember to always do what makes you feel happy.

Let’s start off by knowing what Mental Health really is. Mental Health refers to

  1. Psychological
  2. Emotion
  3. Social well-being

This also refers to how we feel, think and act. Which affects us and others around us.

A good mental health would fill your life with positive energy. For example, if you are doing homework and just had a fight with your mom or friends maybe that’ll be a reason for you to not be able to focus on your work and the result might not end up the way you planned it to.

However, if you have a great mindset from the start of the day and think positively, when it’s time for homework you might just have a bunch of ideas that may pop right up in your head and you can happily start to drop the idea down and end up with a great result.

I like to think that when you do something that you are happy with or passionate about it’ll always succeed. It all starts from your mental health and mindset.

You might be wondering,

‘I know it’s a good thing to have a good mental health, but how exactly can I provide that for myself?’

Well I got you, here are some tips and advice on how to do that!

How to wake up with a positive mindset and a great day:

  1. Try thinking of 3 things you are grateful for every morning.

For example I’m grateful for my parents, friends and the school I’m learning at. If I think this way, I would have the motivation to get up and get ready for school regardless of how early it is and also to see my friends to make my parents proud.

  1. Stay off social media.

Imagine you just woke up with a free and relaxed mind,

You check on your phone and see bad news or something that you may not be happy about, that might spoil your mood which can ruin your whole entire day. You wouldn’t want that would you? Research studying the link between social-media use and mental well-being exists for many age groups, especially those under 18.Rasmussen(American public opinion pollster and political analyst)said they are facing so many stressors at once that their ability to deal with them can be hindered, impacting their mental well-being."We see that social-media use also tends to go up during this age and time period," Rasmussen said.

  1. Eat healthy.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you eat enough in the morning, you would have enough energy to start your day. Nutrition, such as proteins is really important, you should always try including proteins in your meal, it keeps your brain thinking and working well. An example of a healthy meal are eggs, bread with a mini salad bowl if you are in a rush. Go ahead and make yourself an omelette and two slices of bread. Add a bowl of salad would be great. It could be mini tomatoes and a few lettuces.

These are the only few tips that may help make you feel more fresh in the morning. Also, don’t forget to sleep early! That’s also an important factor to your mental health.
