Of all possessions, a friend is the most precious thing
“Gems are precious, but friends are priceless.’’ Some people might find this line a bit cheesy as they find more value in material things like jewelry, gadgets, and other possessions. But those who think differently feel blessed and happy, for they have realized that true wealth is found in people because they share a great and deep connection with others and call them friends. Friends treasure you despite your flaws and craziness and who you value because they add so much joy to your life.
True friends are always there for you, no matter what. They are willing to spend hours and
hours singing your favorite songs until your voices are hoarse, on the go to any adventure and explorations, and are willing to stay up late for conversations on topics that matter or maybe about just silly nonsense stuff. Likewise, their presence is also reassuring when things get tough, and at times you feel you are solving the world’s problems. They are there to give comfort, suggest ideas and solutions, or just be a pair of ears to listen to your worries and arms to hug you. They are a reason to smile and continue to be hopeful.
Friends become family and take a big part in your life. You know you have found true and
real friends when they act and remind you of your own family. They would call you out when you did something wrong, just like dad. It is similar to mom. They love you unconditionally with all your faults and crankiness. They annoy and pester you like your siblings would do. And that is worth more than any money could buy.
When you think of it, having true friends around and for life beats the value of owning precious gems, for they are far rarer and irreplaceable. They stick with you through thick and thin and always stay by your side regardless of what happens. Friends make your life sparkle with love and joy---friends are priceless!
